FLY4 Airlines is proud to support the Irish Aviation Authority’s #NotOnMyFlight campaign, launched in 2024. The initiative continues to gain momentum across the aviation industry as it works collectively to ensure safe, respectful, and enjoyable air travel for all making it clear that unruly conduct, from abusive language to ignoring crew instructions, is not acceptable.
While the vast majority of passengers travel responsibly, there has been a continued rise in industry reports of disruptive passengers between 2019 and 2023. The campaign’s Joint Declaration makes it clear that behaviour which disrupts the passenger experience or compromises safety will not be tolerated. At its core, #NotOnMyFlight is a reminder that flying is a shared space, and courtesy, awareness, and cooperation make the journey better for everyone.
FLY4 and industry collaboration
As a signatory of the aviation industry’s Joint Declaration on Unruly Passenger’s, FLY4 stands alongside the Irish Aviation Authority, An Garda Síochana, all Irish airlines, the major Irish airports, ground handlers, staff representative bodies and international aviation organisations who all continue to back the declaration that sets out how the aviation industry can address the issue of unruly behaviour on flights. We have reinforced our training and procedures to reflect this shared commitment. Pre-flight briefings, onboard announcements, and support systems are all designed to help the crew maintain a respectful and safe environment for all.
“At FLY4, we operate with a deep commitment to guest experience and crew wellbeing,” says Jochen Schnadt, CEO of FLY4 Airlines. “Supporting the #NotOnMyFlight campaign is an important part of that. Disruptive behaviour, however rare, has no place in our operation, and we’re proud to join the wider industry in taking meaningful steps to prevent it. Our teams work incredibly hard to deliver safe, comfortable journeys, and every guest has a role to play in making that possible.”
The rising challenge of disruptive conduct
The scale of disruptive behaviour continues to grow. According to An Garda Síochána, more than 30 such incidents were reported at Dublin Airport in just the first few months of 2025, an increase of nearly 80% over the entire previous year. In 2024 alone, the number of reports was already 50% higher than in 2023.
This is not just a national issue. The UK Civil Aviation Authority has also raised concerns about aggressive and abusive behaviour, which can be distressing for crew and passengers alike and even result in flight diversions or legal consequences. On the ground, one disruptive passenger at a boarding gate or in an airport lounge can delay flights and disrupt the travel experience for many.
This is why the #NotOnMyFlight campaign matters. While most travellers are respectful, it only takes a small number to cause a significant impact.
Collaborative action: training, enforcement and awareness
The aviation sector recognises that no one airline, airport, or authority can address this challenge alone. The Joint Declaration calls for a coordinated approach, including expanded no-fly lists, prompt police involvement, enhanced crew training, and improved passenger awareness.
FLY4 fully supports these actions. Our crew receive regular training in conflict de-escalation and safety procedures, and we maintain close working relationships with airports and enforcement agencies. We also communicate expected behaviours clearly to our guests through pre-departure information, onboard messaging, and signage, ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities.
Commitment to guest and crew wellbeing
At FLY4, the comfort of our guests and the wellbeing of our crew are central to everything we do. We believe that respectful, courteous service is key to a positive flight experience for everyone. We ask all guests to follow simple courtesies – from wearing seatbelts and listening to safety instructions, to being considerate of fellow travellers.
Our crews are prepared to manage the rare occasions when things go wrong, and after any serious incident, we prioritise checking in on the welfare of both crew and guests. Protecting our frontline teams is essential. A supported crew is a confident crew, ready to deliver a safe and comfortable journey every time.
FLY4 Airlines thanks all guests for their cooperation, patience and awareness. Together, with campaigns like #NotOnMyFlight, we can create safer, more respectful journeys for everyone involved in air travel.
